Leisure Suit Larry: Reloaded Delayed To Late June

Spank a monkey and color him blind, it looks like those of you looking to get your sexual comedy giggles and pranks on will have to wait a bit longer than the end of May to do so. I know, I know, it's like withholding Viagra from a dude in hospice who really has a thing for the nurse that looks a little like Hugo Weaving from Cloud Atlas. But it's all done with good reason.

Replay Studios had their PR run the damage control for them for fear of Viagra-less gamers raging that they can't get their game-on with the lovely ladies featured in Leisure Suit Larry: Reloaded. The official response is as follows...

Larry Laffer is one picky guy and he won’t stop preening himself until every hair looks pristine. In order to show Larry as the true Casanova he is, and provide the best possible Leisure Suit Larry experience for fans, Replay Games has decided to hold off the launch of Leisure Suit Larry: Reloaded until late June for additional polishing.

Additional polishing...man, I haven't seen that in quite some time. Boy, I just hope it doesn't turn out like the “additional polishing” that Aliens: Colonial Marines underwent. Yeah, yeah I know it's sacrilege to even bring up that media hyped abomination, but I figured I would just throw it out there.

Anyway, Leisure Suit Larry: Reloaded is the hard work of Replay Studios using money gathered from a crowd-sourced Kickstarter campaign. The game was successfully Kickstarted last year and aims to promise the re-emergence of the sex comedy romp from the Golden Age of gaming that helped shape the industry many years ago.

Larry Laffer's return to form is actually a complete remake of the original Leisure Suit Larry: In the Land of the Lounge Lizards. This was back when pixelated perversion was a grand thing and many top selling games were actually point-and-click titles. I mean, can you imagine that? Point-and-click games being top titles? Well, new school gamers might not find that too aberrant given that the popularity and saturation of TellTale's The Walking Dead.

Anyway, you can look for Leisure Suit Larry: Reloaded to launch this summer on PC, Mac, Linux and Android. The budget-priced title also features exclusive music from the Grammy-nominated composer Austin Wintory, the same bright mind behind the other award-winning title Journey.

You can learn more about Leisure Suit Larry: Reloaded by paying a kind visit to the game's official website.
