Telltale and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment have finally set a window for when the Batman: The Telltale Series will officially release for home consoles and PC. The game will arrive before the summer is out, just as it was promised by Telltale.

In fact, Game Informer is reporting that Batman: The Telltale Series will be available through digital distribution outlets starting in August, next month. Gamers will be able to pick up a digital copy from the PlayStation Store for the PlayStation and the PlayStation 4. Additionally, the game will be available on the Microsoft Xbox Store for the Xbox 360 and the Xbox One. And of course, you will be able to pick up a copy from major outlets like Steam.

Both iOS and Android gamers will also be able to get their hands on the game this August as well, but Game Informer questions if the mobile versions will launch simultaneously with the console and PC versions or if they will be slightly delayed. Oftentimes the mobile versions either arrive first or last, it's common when certain games have to be modified or fixed to run a certain way on specific platforms.

The article further notes that Batman: The Telltale Series will also arrive on store shelves at a retailer near you in September starting on the 13th. The box art above indicates that the game will be available for physical purchase for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. The disc will contain the entire first episode of Batman: The Telltale Series, but will then open up access to the rest of the season, which is due for release before 2016 is out.

Keep in mind that the season pass disc will only have the first episode on physical media, the rest of the episodes will need to be acquired through digital download, so keep that in mind if you plan on picking up a copy from your local GameStop or Best Buy or wherever you usually shop for physical media.

If you have bandwidth caps or are dealing with limited throttling (which is coming back with a vengeance thanks to Comcast introducing bandwidth limits for some customers in certain regions) the physical disc would probably be a pretty good bet to go with to avoid having to rack up unnecessary bandwidth charges. It's a shame that this is even still a concern in this day and age when everything is moving toward that all-digital future.

Nevertheless, Telltale Games has made it known that they want to get out all of the episodes for Batman: The Telltale Series before 2016 concludes. This will include five episodes for the season. Telltale did warn eager gamers that the fifth episode may or may not make the December 31st, 2016 deadline, and it might spill over into 2017 depending on how things turn out and how quickly they can get the episodes finished.

You can look for the highly anticipated Batman: The Telltale Series to launch digitally next month for home consoles, PC and mobile devices, or look to pick up a physical copy of the first episode in September.
