Electronic Arts and DICE aren't done updating Star Wars: Battlefront 2. In fact, the developers have already added even more content to the game, this time around updating the Crait map with a brand new game mode for players to experience.

There's a changelog for the update over on the official Battlefront forums. The changelog reveals that DICE have added Blast to the Crait map, allowing up to 20 players to duke it out while hunting each other down and hoping to secure victory. The mode is a first to 100 by eliminating players before time runs out. The mode is already available for 25 of the game's maps, so now that Crait is added to the list that brings the total up to 26.

The Crait map is based on the new location that appeared in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, which was centered around the Resistance base that was being assaulted by The First Order's AT-M6 walkers. The map is very similar to the Hoth setup, insofar that the Resistance are on the defensive, and must utilize their skills to vehicles to overcome the First Order's threat.

In addition to Crait being updated with a brand new mode, DICE also added a brand new vehicle as well. Iden Versio's special Tie Fighter from the game's campaign mode. The custom Tie/Inferno Fighter is a specially designed spacecraft for the Inferno Squad's Commander Versio. Players had access to this Tie Fighter early on in the Star Wars: Battlefront 2 campaign mode before things switched over.

The Tie/In Fighter has its own special abilities, including dual proton torpedoes, a special Inferno Leader buff that displays all enemies within radius to your allies, along with the laser barrage ability that rapidly fires a barrage of lasers, and an afterburner so you can get away from missile locks and tight spots.

The Tie/In Fighter also comes with its own set of Star Cards as well, which can be acquired through the in-game loot boxes. And thankfully, you don't have to spend any real life money in order to get your hands on the Star Cards, which is how EA had originally envisioned Star Wars: Battlefront 2 before the game came under heavy fire from consumers and lawmakers alike. There are 10 different Star Cards available for the new craft, ranging from increasing laser damage to reducing the delay before health begins to regenerate for the ship. Other upgrades include improving the top speed, and improving the maneuverability of the Tie/In Fighter.

The update also adds a few milestones for Iden's spaceship as well, including using the afterburner more than 25 times to unlock a rapid assault milestone, or getting 25 kills with the dual proton torpedo to unlock the precision strike milestone.

DICE also took an opportunity to balance out a few of the other characters in Star Wars: Battlefront 2, including Finn, Phasma, Lando and Boba Fett, making slight tweaks here and there.

You can check out the new content in the game right now, as patch 1.1 has rolled out for PC, PS4 and Xbox One gamers.
