When Final Fantasy XV's Noctis Is Coming To Tekken 7

Bandai Namco has teamed up with Square Enix for a little bit of cross-promotional content, which includes Final Fantasy XV's lead character, Notcis, making his fighting game debut in Bandai's prime-time 3D fighter, Tekken 7 starting March 20th.

Noctis Lucis Caelum is set to arrive in Tekken 7 for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC starting March 20th. The trailer reveals Noctis in action within Bandai's game for the very first time. The trailer starts with Noctis willing the bloodline sword into his hands and posing. It then showcases the new Hammerhead stage, which is based on the gas station that the boy band visit frequently throughout their journey through Eos in the luxury town car.

Ignis, Gladiolus, and Prompto are standing in the background, looking on as the fighters duel within the arena. A Chocobo stands in the background behind the Quartz Regalia.

The garage where Cindy does work on vehicles is highlighted, along with Cindy herself, and we also see the gas station along with a truck in the background.

The fighting arena is a secured section of the parking lot next to the gas station that's just in front of the larger garage area.

We then finally get to see Noctis in action, utilizing his sword and some melee combos together to string together some devastating hits. Unlike the other fighters, Noctis has a strong focus on aerial attacks, allowing him to air-juggle while actually in the air. For those of you who have played through Final Fantasy XV, you know that Noct can very quickly take to the air and stay there with his sword combos. This is very accurately reflected in his attacks within Tekken 7.

Noct can also maintain bounce juggles, keeping opponents just far enough off the ground to scoot them toward the edge of the arena.

Namco's designers did a bang-up job keeping Noctis consistent from how he was portrayed in Square Enix's title. He's still light on his feet and quick with his attacks. However, he also has the ability to unleash devastating power moves by switching between his weapons, alternating between light, medium and heavy attacks.

But, the leader of the JRPG boy band didn't just arrive with his weapons in tow and brand new stage. Tekken 7 players will also gain access to exclusive new outfits for Noctis, such as the "Casual Outfit." The prince is decked out in a lazy weekend hoody with black khaki pants and sports shoes. He also comes with a "Royal Raiment" costume, featuring him in a pinstriped black and white suit, along with a "Fighting King's Raiment" costume, which is a long coat with bladed emblems on the wrist and a full head cover, not unlike Jin's costume. The "Kingly Raiment" costume is based on the final chapter outfit that Noctis wears in Final Fantasy XV. And finally, there's the Choco-Mog Style costume, based on the festival DLC attire from Final Fantasy XV.

You can look to get your hands on the DLC for free if you have the season pass, or you can purchase it separately from the official store page when March 20th rolls around.
