Channing Tatum Looks Like A Nerdy Cowboy In First Kingsman 2 Image

The hallmark of a good sequel is its ability to take everything that we loved about the original film and completely dial up the insanity. Not every follow-up manages to accomplish that mission (in fact, some completely fail), but Matthew Vaughn's Kingsman: The Golden Circle appears to be shaping up quite nicely. In fact, a new photo from the highly anticipated sequel has debuted online, and it shows Channing Tatum's character in the film dressed as a nerdy cowboy. Check out the newly released photo below to see all of the bizarre and downright weird spy shenanigans for yourself.

EW has officially released photos of the new members of the Kingsman ensemble ahead of the debut of The Golden Circle, and I think it is safe to say that our anticipation for this sequel just went through the roof. With the American characters in the upcoming Kingsman sequel (particularly Channing Tatum's character), it appears that the film wants to play up the mythology of the American cowboy in the same way that Matthew Vaughn's original Kingsman toyed with the idea of a dapper British agent. It's unclear how much of the film will involve Tatum wearing this ridiculous costume, but it's fairly clear that the guy definitely rocks the cowboy look.

Despite the somewhat dorky look that Channing Tatum is sporting in this photo, it sounds like you will not want to mess with his character when Kingsman: The Golden Circle debuts. In particular, one of the gadgets rumored to appear in the film is an "electric lasso" with the ability to slice and dice bad guys. Given what we saw in the first Kingsman, we're sure Matthew Vaughn will include plenty of blood to accompany that lasso's effects. Other leaked images of Tatum's character have shown him sporting a more traditional and stylish look in the film, so this cowboy getup may simply be a very authentic disguise that allows this secret badass to blend in during a mission. Only time will tell.

That said, the overall dichotomy between the American agents and the British agents seems like it will play a relatively substantial role in the central narrative of Kingsman: The Golden Circle. Returning to the story of Eggsy (Taron Egerton) after saving the world in his first mission against Valentine, The Golden Circle will see the Kingsman headquarters destroyed, which will subsequently force him to venture to the United States to team up with Kingsman's American counterparts -- appropriately named the Statesmen. This adventure will bring him into contact with a number of bizarre characters and will bolster the cast of The Golden Circle's ensemble to include heavy-hitters like Jeff Bridges, Julianne Moore, Halle Berry, and Elton John -- in addition to returning cast members like Egerton, Mark Strong, and Colin Firth.

We will bring you more information related to Kingsman: The Golden Circle as new details related to Matthew Vaughn's highly-anticipated sequel become available to us. The film is slated to make its theatrical debut later this year on September 29.
