Ryan Reynolds Shared A Hilarious Thanksgiving Themed Deadpool 2 Poster

It's no secret that we're in the midst of a wild superhero craze in TV and film. With three shared universes currently producing massive blockbusters, you can't turn a corner without running into a new hero in tights kicking ass and taking names. But then there are certain films that are game changers for the genre; enter Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool. Last year's unconventional superhero movie proved that an R-ratings and wholly original style could do wonders, as Deadpool became a critical and box office darling. Since then, the fandom has been eager to see the highly anticipated sequel. And while information about Deadpool 2 is slim, Reynolds recently shared a fantastic Thanksgiving themed poster to keep us engaged. Check it out.

That thing is so fantastically bonkers, and something only the Deadpool franchise can bring to the table. Let's break down exactly what we're being shown here, turkey and all.

The above poster brings together Deadpool characters new and old for a good old fashioned family meal. The entire starring cast is assembled, which is something we can probably never expect to happen within the actual franchise. This includes newcomers like Domino (Zazie Beetz), as well as the more comic relief characters like Weasel and Blind Al (TJ Miller and Leslie Uggams). Plus X-Men Colossus and Negasonic Teenage Warrior are in on the action too, as they are set to return to the series after debuting in the first film. If there's one thing that's sure for Deadpool 2, there will be plenty of mutants.

Of course, you can't help but pay attention to who is at the head of the table. Deadpool is joined by none other than Josh Brolin's Cable, who is looking badass as usual. The images of both Josh Brolin and Zazie Beetz are new, as we've only seen a few promotional photos of the actors in costume. There's also a hilarious photo of Stan Lee hanging in the background near Deadpool, because the franchise isn't one to miss out on an Easter egg.

Part of what helped make Deadpool such a giant success in 2016 was its fantastic marketing and social media campaign. Often revolving around the personal Twitter account of Ryan Reynolds, the franchise is known for its focus on meme culture and bringing Wade Wilson's unique fourth wall breaking perspective onto social media.

This presence will likely get kicked into gear once Deadpool 2 releases its first trailer. Up until this point, all we've gotten is the "No Good Deed" short that briefly brought back the character to tease the fans. But all plot details and any actual footage or stills are non existent at this point.

Then again, we do have some time to wait. Deadpool 2 is set arrive in theaters on June 1, 2018. In the meantime, check out our 2018 release list to plan your trips to the movies in the New Year.
