Sebastian Stan Had An Awesome Reaction To The Avengers: Infinity War Trailer

Bucky Barnes Sebastian Stan The Avengers Infinity War

Last week, fans worldwide got their very first look at what should be one of the biggest films of 2018, Joe and Anthony Russo's The Avengers: Infinity War, and they found themselves blown away in the process. The movie is the result of a full decade's worth of build-up, and it was amazing to see just how much the debut trailer was able to squeeze in to just two-and-a-half minutes. The footage even managed to impress one of the blockbuster's own stars, Sebastian Stan, who had the following to say when I asked him about the trailer earlier today:

I'm glad I made the trailer! It's wild, man. You've got 65 actors in that movie -- it's some of the actors I've grown up with and I've always idolized. You can't help but pinch yourself all the time, and just be blown away by the fact that you're surrounded by that kind of caliber of actors. It's an epic movie by every sense of that word. That's the only word I can honestly choose how to describe it. Every scene is epic. There is no scene that doesn't have a cameo or some Oscar winner, or somebody who you've grown up with in the last 10 years of the movies that they've made.

Sebastian Stan will soon be back on the big screen thanks to his role in the critically-acclaimed I, Tonya, and when I spoke with him at the film's Los Angeles press day this morning I took the opportunity to ask about his feelings regarding The Avengers: Infinity War trailer. There have been many stories online about the secrecy surrounding the film, including the fact that the actors were not given access to the full script, so I was curious what it was like for him to see the finished footage. The enthusiasm in his response was palpable, suggesting that fans really don't have a full idea of what they are in for when the movie arrives next May.

As for Sebastian Stan's initial reaction to my question, there actually is good reason why he should be happy he made it into the Avengers: Infinity War trailer -- specifically the fact that not everybody did. Last Wednesday I wrote a feature about all of the key Marvel characters who didn't get a spotlight moment in the footage, and it was a list that included big names like Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye and Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury. Stan's Bucky Barnes a.k.a. Winter Soldier actually gets a couple of standout moments, first prepping his gun while standing alongside the Wakandan army, and the second charging into battle along with most of the other Avengers.

The Avengers: Infinity War won't be hitting theaters until May 4, 2018 -- but as mentioned earlier, you'll be able to see the latest from Sebastian Stan long before that. Following its impressive world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival back in September, I, Tonya will make its bow in theaters this Friday, December 8th. We definitely recommend buying a ticket, and be sure to stick around here on CinemaBlend for more of my interviews with the film's fantastic cast!
