The 2 DCEU Movies That Will Probably Follow Wonder Woman 2

Gal Gadot wielding sword and shield as Wonder Woman

In the aftermath of Justice League, Warner Bros only has three DC Extended Universe movies scheduled: Aquaman hits theaters in December, Shazam! will follow in April of next year and Wonder Woman 2 arrives in November 2019. Beyond that, we haven't officially learned yet which of the many DC movies in various stages of development will follow Diana of Themyscira's sequel adventure, but if a new report is to be believed, Flashpoint and Batgirl are the likeliest candidates.

In its report about Warner Bros naming Chantal Nong as the vice-president of production for the DC Films group (which is now being overseen by Walter Hamada), THR mentioned that Flashpoint and Batgirl will be part of the next wave of DCEU movies following Wonder Woman 2, among others. Flashpoint, originally known as The Flash, was one of the movies included in the initial DCEU slate announced in 2014, and while it was originally supposed to be released next month, it was taken off the schedule following numerous behind-the-scenes delays. Batgirl was announced in March 2017, with Joss Whedon both writing and directing. While there's no guarantee yet that either Flashpoint and Batgirl will directly follow Wonder Woman 2 (Suicide Squad 2 is another DC movie that's reportedly a priority for the studio), it sounds like we can expect both movies to be released sooner rather than later.

Warning: SPOILERS for Justice League are ahead!

After cameoing in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad, Barry Allen, a.k.a. The Flash, made his full debut last November in Justice League, where he graduated from 'guy who pushes people and runs away' to full-fledged superhero. The end of the movie also showed Barry being hired to work at the Central City Police Department's crime lab, giving him even more in common with his comic book counterpart. Last year at San Diego Comic-Con, it was announced that the Flash movie was now being called Flashpoint, and Game Night duo John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein have signed on to direct. With Gal Gadot reportedly reprising Wonder Woman and Geoff Johns saying there will be Batman elements, it sounds like Flashpoint will be a relatively close adaptation of the original 2011 storyline.

As for Batgirl, aside from the movie reportedly being inspired by the New 52 version of Barbara Gordon, no specific details have come out yet. Although Rosario Dawson voiced Batgirl in last year's The LEGO Batman Movie, this will be the character's first live action theatrical appearance since Alicia Silverstone portrayed Barbara in 1997's Batman & Robin. Batgirl is just one of many Bat-related DCEU projects that are being worked on, others including The Batman, Nightwing and Gotham City Sirens.
