Marvel Reveals Avengers: Infinity War's Digital Release Date

Avengers: Infinity War has only been out for four weeks now, and it's already the highest grossing superhero movie in the world and currently the fourth highest grossing movie ever. The big question right now is if the movie will be able to make it to the rare $2 billion mark, but it's clear that the film is already a winner. The movie is filled with enough spectacle, fun, and surprises to keep people coming to theaters, but they won't have to wait long to watch it whenever they want. Marvel has already announced that the blockbuster will release digitally for consumers on July 31.

Remember when it used to take about a year before a movie would release on video? It wasn't all that long ago, but now thanks to the emphasis on digital (and the internet making it easier than ever to just pirate the movie), studios are pushing out their movies to retail mere months after the theatrical release. I'm pretty sure Black Panther was even still playing in some theaters when the Blu-ray came out. So, even though It technically hasn't even been a full month since it released, Marvel is capitalizing hard on Infinity War and sending it out digitally while we're all still thinking about it.

Avengers: Infinity War will digitally release on Digital and 4K UHD on July 31. Marvel did not disclose the release date for the Blu-ray, but typically, they arrive about a week or two after the Digital version. You can pre-order the Digital version on Microsoft, Vudu, iTunes, and Amazon through the link here.

Marvel also did not reveal what kind of special features fans can expect, so there will likely be some future announcements relatively soon. Infinity War was a big movie and fans can hopefully expect some sweet bonus features. The Russo Brothers, Christopher Markus, and Stephen McFeely did commentaries for their last two MCU movies, so hopefully, they will do the same here. Plus, people love those gag reels!

One interesting note to make is that when Infinity War arrives on retail, Ant-Man and the Wasp will have been out for three weeks. That's so much Marvel and so quickly. But then audiences will have to wait until 2019 for another Marvel movie (Captain Marvel in this case) to arrive in theaters. So drink it up while you can, because there's about to be a drought.

While we fantasize about special features and cover art, let's not forget that Avengers: Infinity War is still in theaters right now. We've been pretty gung-ho about the movie here at CinemaBlend, but there's plenty else arriving in theaters. For the rest of the year, here's our 2018 release date schedule for everything else hitting theaters soon.
