Full Alita: Battle Angel Trailer Looks Cutting-Edge And Mesmerizing

This December will see a broad range of visually impressive blockbusters duke it out for dominance, with Fox bringing Alita: Battle Angel to the table as its specific contender. We have seen glimpses of the movie here and there throughout its development, but now a brand new trailer has just dropped, and it offers a much better look at the film's cutting-edge special effects. Check out the newly-released preview, below!

Narratively, that trailer doubles down on a lot of what we saw in the previous trailer. Alita (Rosa Salazar) is an advanced cyborg brought to life by a doctor (Christoph Waltz) who spends her days navigating a dangerous post-apocalyptic metropolis. Eventually, she stumbles upon a mystery that sends her on a journey to uncover the mystery of her past, and who she was in a previous life.

This trailer makes it abundantly clear that the technology going into Alita: Battle Angel is state of the art (Avatar director James Cameron is involved, after all), and there are some notable visual elements that looks particularly effective. In fact, one specific aspect of this trailer worth honing in on is the fact that Alita's eyes look much better than they did in the initial trailer -- which caused some backlash online. Now, with the VFX far more polished than they were earlier this year, we have a far better look at what Alita: Battle Angel is supposed to truly look like. And it's very cool.

Also worth noting is the scale and intensity of the action, all of which have a very unique visual style to it. This should come as no surprise to fans of Robert Rodriguez, as his work on films like Sin City, Desperado, and Planet Terror (among others) has gone on to become iconic among fans of the grindhouse-esque action genre.

If you are looking for more information about the development and production of Alita: Battle Angel, you can check out a Facebook Q-and-A session that recently hit the web featuring Rosa Salazar, James Cameron, Robert Rodriguez, and producer Jon Landau. Take a look at it, below.
