See The Adorable Dog Zac Efron Rescued Before It Was Put Down At The Shelter

As if Zac Efron wasn't lovable enough? The High School Musical actor made a life-saving decision for a dog in need. Efron visited a dog shelter where he saw Tilly was set to enter the kill room. The world-famous celebrity stepped in and said he'd take the dog before she met her end. Renamed MACA, the dog now lives with Efron, avoiding her dreaded fate. Take a look at the adorable photo between Zac Efron and MACA, via Instagram, down below.

Tell your hearts to be still. The Greatest Showman actor has no shortage of adoring fans all around the world, and yet he somehow warmed their hearts even more than ever with this adoring action. Zac Efron is known for being a big sweetheart, and this loving act proves those reports aren't just rumors. And who knows? Maybe this new canine addition to his life will inspire him to get even more dogs, including some more dogs in need? We'll have to wait and see. But for the time being, we're glad that Zac Efron opened his heart to allow this dog in dire straits to live out her life in his comforting care.

Zac Efron was last seen in Baywatch, the aforementioned The Greatest Showman and The Disaster Artist last year. His next role, however, might not be quite so lovable. He is set to play serial killer Ted Bundy in the upcoming crime-thriller biopic Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile. Because who needs subtlety, right? Thankfully, the actor admitted he didn't go method for the chilling upcoming performance. He kept the creepy stuff on set, thank goodness. He didn't pull a Jared Leto or anything. Additionally, Zac Efron will soon appear in The Beach Bum, writer-director Harmony Korine's follow-up to Spring Breakers, alongside Matthew McConaughey and Snoop Dogg. He plays a guy named Flicker -- if you want an idea of what's to come.

Zac Efron doesn't have any additional acting gigs in the works just yet, so it appears the muscular young actor can spend a good bit of quality bonding time with his newest four-legged companion. That said, Efron was reportedly on the set of David Gordon Green's upcoming Halloween reboot with Jamie Lee Curtis. Nothing is confirmed, but there might be a good reason to believe he appears in that new movie. We'll keep you posted if that's true. In the meantime, however, Zac Efron appears to be focusing most -- if not all -- of his high-profile attention on his new dog friend. We look forward to seeing more pictures with the actor's newest canine companion soon.
