Heather Locklear Reportedly Hospitalized After Threatening To Shoot Herself

Heather Locklear in too close to home

Suicide has tragically been in the spotlight in recent weeks, as icons like Kate Spade and Anthony Bourdain have taken their own lives. This weekend, Heather Locklear was hospitalized after a family member called the police, stating the actress was threatening to turn a weapon on her person. Locklear's family members reportedly called 911 on Sunday, and the dispatch audio from the call indicates that Heather Locklear was agitated and violent, as well as threatening to shoot herself with a gun. The transcript of that audio from the dispatcher has also been made available, and while Locklear isn't officially listed by name, the basic gist of the audio is this:

[Locklear] is trying to hurt herself, and looking for a gun to shoot herself. She does not have access to any weapons. She is agitated and violent. Check your calls for a hazard at the address.

TMZ initially reported the call, and included the audio from the dispatch, and officers were sent to the 4900 block of Summit View Drive in Venture County, where previous calls about Heather Locklear's behavior have been placed. Later reports indicated that Locklear had been having trouble earlier in the day. Her parents supposedly went to check on her, after which Locklear allegedly became violent, even hitting her father and choking her mother. Regardless, the actress was not arrested for criminal behavior, and was sent to the hospital, instead.

The Ventura County Fire Department confirmed there was an incident, per Fox News, but would not include Heather Locklear's involvement.

There was a call to the 4900 block of Summit View Drive on Sunday. We did respond to that address yesterday at 3:55 in the afternoon.

Heather Locklear has been having a tough year. The Franklin & Back actress was in the limelight for the wrong reasons earlier this year when she was arrested for domestic violence, as well as three counts of battery on a police officer. Soon after, officers even searched her home for a firearm that is reportedly registered to the actress, although they were unable to find the weapon. Later, Locklear had reportedly checked herself into rehab, and friends at the time alleged that stint was due to drinking while dealing with depression. It isn't the first time Locklear has faced issues with drugs and alcohol, either. A DUI and stints in rehab have peppered her past. It's always hopeful that things will look up for people after they have left rehab, but it's not always the case. In Heather Locklear's case, her struggles seem to be continuing.

The actress hasn't taken any acting projects in 2018, and the last thing she starred in was the TV series Too Close to Home, a series which was cancelled by TLC toward the end of 2017.
