Russell Simmons Countersues Rape Accuser

Russell Simmons KCal 9

Russell Simmons is going to court to take legal action against the woman who accused him of rape, as it is being reported today. According to court documents recently filed, The C.E.O of Rush Communications believes the woman falsely accused him of this crime, and the business entrepreneur wants to take the matter to court to settle his grievances on the matter. The details surrounding the case are still developing at this time, but here's what we know about Russell Simmons' recent lawsuit filed in court earlier this week. It should be noted that the details surround this case are graphic and intense in nature.

According to the legal documents acquired by E! News, Russell Simmons is demanding the woman, who is listed under the pseudonym Jane Doe, pay him $35,000 after she accused him of rape in a March lawsuit. The woman was seeking $10 million for the case, where she claimed the music producer reportedly sexually assaulted her. following a concert they both attended close to 30 years ago in Sacramento, California. In her original case, Jane Doe claimed she met the artist in a hotel bar after leaving her son with a babysitter. Doe claims Simmons reportedly asked her to come up to his room to retrieve an item he left in there. Doe then claims Simmons allegedly slammed the door, said he was "going to fuck" her and then reportedly proceeded to commit the crime in question.

Jane Doe is one of at least 14 women who has accused Russell Simmons of sexual misconduct since the #MeToo movement began gaining speed. The Def Jam founder has denied the validity of these accusations. Jane Doe's case was eventually thrown out since the statue of limitations had passed, and Simmons believes the woman's actions were "baseless" and "filled with improper purpose" in the recently-filed court documents. The music producer claims the rape accusations were made for purposes publicity, and there was plenty of publicity indeed. Simmons also requests the judge impose sanctions on Mr. Mastroianni, the attorney representing Jane Doe, because the lawyer suggested that Simmons was "more culpable here" because the law firm that represents him also represented Harvey Weinstein and Bill Cosby. Mr. Simmons also released the following statement.

I vehemently deny all the allegations made against me. They have shocked me to my core as I have never been abusive or violent in any way in my relations with women. I have submitted myself to multiple lie detector tests. I denied forced sex and sexual harassment allegations brought against me in each test; I also answered no to the question, 'Have you ever physically forced any woman to have sexual intercourse?' I passed all of the lie detector tests.

The case is still developing at this time. Russell Simmons' lawyers have not publicly commented on this case at this point in time. There should be more developments to this ongoing story in the following weeks.
