The Chew Just Lost One Of Its Hosts After Six Seasons

Daphne Oz The Chew

After six seasons on The Chew, one of the show's longest running hosts is leaving the show. Daphne Oz, who was first with the show when it started in September of 2011, has announced that she will be departing the show. The host announced her departure from the series in an official Instagram post that can be seen below:

Daphne Oz's exit comes a year after The Chew won a daytime Emmy for Outstanding/Informative Talk Show. Oz has been apart of the series since its beginnings, and has been present for many episodes as well as a line of spin off cookbooks from the series. A wellness enthusiast, Oz is a strong and charming presence on The Chew, and has also appeared on The View, Celebrity Name Game, and appeared as a judge on the Food Network series Cooks vs. Cons. While her gig on The Chew seems to be reaching an official end, it's unknown whether or not Oz will continue to grace television with appearances on other programs.

As for what's next for Daphne Oz, EW says the daughter of the famous Dr. Mehmet Oz recently became a brand ambassador for Dress Barn. In addition to that, Oz posted in June that she and her husband John Jovanovic are expecting their third child. Oz appears to be embracing the pregnancy lifestyle, as she posed with a watermelon for a humorous photo recently:

No replacement has been announced for Daphne Oz on The Chew (which airs weekdays at 1 p.m. ET), but with so many people featured on the show already, it likely won't take long to fill her spot physically if not emotionally. Those upset about Oz leaving might as well ride that ABC wave of sadness, as it looks like that musical for The Little Mermaid isn't happening, and The Middle is getting canceled. On the up side, a lot of ABC's classic TGIF lineup is set to hit streaming very soon, and that's exciting enough to wash away any sadness one might feel about all that former news.
