How Jennifer Aniston Feels About People Talking About Her Nipples Showing On Friends

During Friends' years-long heyday, the hit sitcom was responsible for influencing a lot of people in a lot of different ways. TV witnessed a slew of Friends-ian series in the wake of its success, and star Jennifer Aniston single-headedly caused shifts in hairstyle trends throughout the '90s. But it's not just Aniston's hairdos that had an effect on culture, as her quite prominent nipples made their own impact. Somehow, the actress has gone all these years without directly addressed things, but here's what Aniston thinks about it, as well as being dubbed the #FreeTheNipple campaign's OG.

Yeah, I don't know what to say about that! It's just one of those things, I guess. I wear a bra, I don't know what to tell ya! And I don't know why we're supposed to be ashamed of them---it's just the way my breasts are! But hey, OG, I'm not going to complain!

Get it, girl! This perhaps isn't the most significant title that Jennifer Aniston has been tagged with over the course of her career, but it's one she's earned. And though it's got to be uncomfortable for an actress have an interview get steered toward any part of her anatomy, it's righteous that Aniston sounded willing to make the breast, er, best of the situation by accepting the distinction with glory.

Of course, it's unfortunate that Jennifer Aniston would take this in any way that is negative, since I don't think anyone would specifically apply the #FreeTheNipple OG distinction to her with any sort of ill will in mind. I'd wager that the prominence of her nipples has been subject to more cases of fascination and good-natured interest, as opposed to instances where viewers/fans were disgusted or offended. At least, that's what I'd hope the case would be, though the Internet has a way of shooting down such optimism.

To that point, Jennifer Aniston also talked with Vanity Fair about her stance against body-shaming tabloids, and how she's now at a point where she doesn't give a shit.

If you're going to walk out and have your nipples showing, or your belly is a little bloated, or you're not at the weight you want to be---you are perfect no matter what you are and no matter where you are and who cares! You have to tune out the noise, which is fine by me, because I just know that I'm happy and healthy and doing everything I can to be good in the world and to the people I work with.

You know who didn't give Rachel any comedic grief about her nipples, even though he's the very character that one would expect to do just that? Joey. And that's just one extra reason why he and Rachel were totally meant to be on Friends, which is explained perfectly in one fan's epic argument. I mean, neither Chandler nor Ross ever told her stuff about them, nor Monica, Phoebe, Gunther, Russ or any others, but still. None of them would help the Rachel/Joey theory.

Though she's popped up (and not out) on talk shows and on SNL in recent years, Jennifer Aniston hasn't set herself up with a longform TV role since Friends came to an end back in 2004, and neither she nor any of the others is particularly interested in getting a reunion or revival together. Thankfully, though, she's set to make her big return to the small screen with her former TV sister Reese Witherspoon for a high-profile comedy about the world of morning chat shows, which is aiming for a premium cable or streaming service.

Until we get more news on that, though, head to our summer TV schedule and our fall premiere schedule to see the new and returning shows debuting in the coming months.
