Jessica Jones' Krysten Ritter Passed Out After Getting Punched In The Face During Fight Scene

One of the most badass TV characters currently busting skulls, both within the comic book TV-scape and beyond, is definitely Krysten Ritter's Marvel superheroine Jessica Jones, and fans are as anxious as ever to see what's happening with Season 2 of the Netflix hit. Apparently one of the NYC drama's many fight scenes was a bit more hectic than Ritter was ready for, as she legitimately took a big punch while filming, and she subsequently passed right out.

Season 2 of Jessica Jones is currently still coming together behind the scenes, and during one day of filming back in July, Krysten Ritter was taking part in a fight sequence when her opponent threw an uppercut that accidentally connected quite strongly with Ritter's jaw. The actress nearly bit through her tongue, according to Women's Health, and she promptly passed out. Apparently she wasn't overly comfortable with seeing her own blood appearing in such quantities, saying this:

I saw the blood everywhere, and I panicked.

Once it was determined that Krysten Ritter wasn't severely injured by the runaway uppercut, it was time for the rest of the cast and crew to remark humorously on the situation. And not necessarily in a way that championed the actress' moves. Ritter said some of them reenacted her fall, causing their eyelids to flutter back as their bodies went limp. Maybe we'll get to see that moment show up during a gag reel at some point?

But hey, at the end of the day, it's going to take a lot more than one punch to stop Jessica, er, Krysten Ritter. Despite whatever physical pain she may have suffered from the incident, she went right back to work the next day, so there are no worries about Season 2 being postponed. Which is good, since we don't even know when it's going to premiere in the first place.

Jessica Jones didn't really experience too many setbacks in the bodily injury department throughout Season 1 -- she certainly fared better than Kilgrave -- but based on this painful ordeal, perhaps Season 2 will be more physically draining for the Defenders hero. Or maybe this was the only fight scene in the season, and Krysten Ritter was just severely unfortunate when putting it all together. That's not likely at all, considering big brawls are these shows' bread and butter, but it's certainly possible.

Jessica Jones Season 2 doesn't yet have a release date, but we'll likely see it at some point in the early months of 2018. Fans are currently waiting to see what Netflix will do with The Punisher, which was facing a possible release date setback after the mass shooting tragedy that recently went down in Las Vegas. But all the other Marvel dramas are there and available to stream in full, so there's that. In the meantime, head to our fall premiere schedule to see what else the small screen has to offer in the coming months.
