Will Ferrell And Molly Shannon Are Hosting A Bizarre Live New Year's Special For Amazon

The holiday season is upon us, and Amazon is bringing out some big names in comedy to host a brand new kind of celebration. Will Ferrell and Molly Shannon are on board to host The 2018 Rose Parade Hosted by Cord Hosenbeck and Tish Cattigan, and it looks... well, kind of odd. The two comedy legends will be playing characters for the hosting gig, which should make for a memorable way to start the new year. Check out the promo for the Amazon special below!

The 2018 Rose Parade Hosted by Cord Hosenbeck and Tish Cattigan is being produced due to a collaboration between Amazon and Funny Or Die, and it will stream live on Amazon Prime on New Year's Day. Will Ferrell and Molly Shannon are pretty recognizable in the roles as seen in the promo, but a lot of backstory has been established for Cord and Tish. They won't just feel like characters who were only recently invented for a special.

Cord Hosenbeck and Tish Cattigan have covered the Rose Bowl for the past 25 years, but 2018 will see them move from a local station to the much larger Amazon streaming platform. Their fans all around the world will be able to stream them live, and they'll probably gain brand new legions of fans as well. After all, they've developed their dynamic for the past quarter of a century. This will be their first-ever live-streamed Rose Parade.

Each member of the duo brings a very different point-of-view to the table. Cord Hosenbeck is a Health and Fitness expert who frequently contributes to radio and television programs centered on wellness of body and mind. He's also a successful author, having written more than 30 books on everything from dressing for success to diet.

For her part, Tish Cattigan is a former Miss Arizona who came in second in the contest to win the crown of Miss America. Like Cord, Tish is an author, with many books on marriage, relationships, wellness, and co-dependency to her name. In addition to the fame she's gained as longtime co-host of the Rose Parade, Tish is known for appearing as an assistant district attorney on L.A. Law. She currently lives with her husband Brent in Southern California, although Brent spends the majority of his time on a boat in Newport Beach.

The 2018 Rose Parade Hosted by Cord & Tish will stream live on Amazon Prime Video on Monday, January 1 at 8 a.m. PT/11 a.m. ET. If you can't tune in to watch live, you'll still be able to see Cord and Tish in action, as the special will be available streaming even after its initial airing. If you're not already a subscriber to Amazon Prime, you can check out a free trial here to ring in the new year with Cord and Tish.
