HBO's Westworld Is Building An Actual Westworld, Just Without The Sex And Death

Since we're in the middle of a TV renaissance, there is a bevy of fantastic content to be consumed at any given moment. But there are certain new shows that seem to transcend the rest, and become major moments of pop culture. For HBO this recently happened again with the sci-fi drama Westworld. Starring a fantastic cast of primarily film actors, Westworld's high concept and strong performances seem to capture TV fans' attentions immediately. The fandom would all collectively like a run in the park, and now we'll have our chance. It'll just be without all the sex and violence.

HBO is actually building a replica of Westworld, or at least the town of Sweetwater. It'll be built in an area outside of Austin, Texas, and it being set up for the upcoming South by Southwest Festival. HBO has reportedly rented out two acres of land, where they'll be building iconic locations from within the park. This includes both the The Coronado Hotel and the Mariposa Saloon, where Thandie Newton's Maeve serves as a lady of the night and madame.

According to EW, visitors of the park (as Westworld calls them, guests) will depart from Austin, Texas in the Delos Shuttle. From there, they'll be given either a black or white hat-- presumably revealing how you'll be acting within the park. It's unclear what type of awesome activities will be in the attraction, but it'll likely bring Westworld fans to SXSW this year.

News of the Westworld experience for SXSW came with a video, teasing that guests will find "life without limits" within the park. Check it out below.

That video should be enough to get fans pumped, and get the FOMO flowing through those of us who aren't planning on heading to SXSW this year.

The Westworld attraction is a brilliant way to keep fan excitement up for the series, especially during the long hiatus in between seasons. Season 1 premiered October 2016, so it's already been well over a year that fans have been waiting for a second season. Luckily, the wait is almost over since Westworld's sophomore season will debut in just a few months time. The Season 1 finale was absolutely wild, so it'll be great to finally return to the twisted and fascinating world of the show.

All will be revealed when Westworld Season 2 debuts April 22, 2018. In the meantime, check out our midseason premiere list to plan your next binge watch, and our cancellation list to see if your favorite show got the chop last year.
