They say "all good things must come to an end," but will the greatness that is The Ellen Show be ending anytime soon? The morning staple has been going strong since it premiered in 2003, but Ellen DeGeneres' rumored retirement would bring the show to a halt. So, what's actually happening? One good source to tap for questioning is the show's DJ, Stephen "tWitch" Boss. When asked about the possibility of DeGeneres ending her super-successful daytime talk show, tWitch responded by saying:

I can't tell you anything about that, but I can tell you that I'll be just as sad. I mean, it's an amazing place to be in the afternoon, but you know what, she's also put in mad years, right? So it's like at some point in time, I feel like it's going to have to end, but as far as an actual year, I have no idea, but we're just enjoying it.

The day The Ellen Show ends is going to be one of those real television heartbreakers. Hopefully, though, viewers will not have to endure it for some time to come. The good news is that DJ tWitch told ET there is no definitive year or timeline set for the show to say goodbye, so that's hopeful in the sense that it hasn't become a frequent topic of conversation. The day that the finale episode date gets announced is going to be almost as sad as the finale actually airing, because we will all know the end is coming.

There are inevitably concerns from the show's fans that the popular chat fest may be hitting its twilight years. Ellen DeGeneres has headlined and hosted her own mega-successful talk show for 15 years, spinning out endless numbers of hilarious viral videos. And with DeGeneres mentioning her inevitable, if hopefully distant, retirement as recently as January, fans have reason to wonder if the end is nigh. As well as commenting on the show, DJ tWitch also shared his heavy praise for DeGeneres saying:

It's more than just like ... she's a mentor, she's a friend, she's a teacher. It's awesome, man.

DJ tWitch's lovely comments about Ellen DeGeneres only further prove why she is such a popular celeb. Not everyone can host a long-running daytime talk show for 15 consecutive years. There are the issues of professional stamina and viewership, neither of which have waned for The Ellen Show, which remains as popular as ever. As such, it is hard to imagine the entertainment world without DeGeneres front and center, scaring the bejesus out of Hollywood elite. Not to mention her other ability to get her celebrity guests to share some significant revelations.

In the meantime, we should all savor what we are getting. For now, Ellen DeGeneres is showing no signs of slowing her career roll. Along with hosting The Ellen Show, she also hosts Ellen's Game of Games, in which tWitch also stars. DeGeneres is also in the midst of revitalizing her stand-up career, with one of her stand-up performances being filmed as a special for Netflix. So, the good news is there is a plethora of new content on its way from DeGeneres.
