Adam Sandler's Netflix Comedy Special Has A Release Date And First Look Video

Adam Sandler is one of the most well-known names in comedy, and there may never come a day when everybody will be done quoting Happy Gilmore and Billy Madison at each other. Now, Sandler is heading to the small screen with a stand-up comedy special that could be exactly what fans have been hoping for, and it will premiere on Netflix in the not-too-distant future. The big premiere date announcement came along with a first-look video that may get you excited about what's in store. Take a look!

Yes, Adam Sandler: 100% Fresh will debut on Netflix on Tuesday, October 23 at 12:01 a.m. PT. The first-look video doesn't actually give away any of the big jokes Sandler will drop on viewers, which may not actually matter. Sandler is well-known enough that people are going to check out his special no matter what as long as they know when and where the stand-up special will be available. It does look like we can expect some of the dancing and singing Sandler has become known for.

Netflix generally doesn't release ratings information, so we may not actually know for sure how many people do turn in. That said, there's one Adam Sandler fan who we can probably expect to tune in. The guy who watched one Sandler movie every day for a year -- and not all of the movies he watched are among Sandler's most praised -- is likely to give the special a shot as long as he has a Netflix subscription.

Adam Sandler has actually been a hot commodity for Netflix. The streaming giant signed a four-movie deal with Sandler, and the deal quickly proved to be a good move. In the first quarter of 2017, Netflix revealed that users had spent around half a billion -- yes, billion with a B -- hours watching Sandler's Netflix movies.

Given that Netflix landed Adam Sandler (and Will Smith) on the list of highest-paid actors, it's safe to say that the deal has worked out for Sandler as well as Netflix! As long as he continues not reading any bad reviews for his projects, he may be happy to continue collaborating with Netflix. Perhaps 100% Fresh won't be the only stand-up special the streaming service will get out of Sandler.

We'll have to wait and see what kind of reception Adam Sandler's special does get once it hits the web next month. Maybe there won't be many bad reviews for him to read, even if he was inclined to do so. Then again, Netflix has gotten rid of user reviews, so Sandler would probably have to go looking for feedback outside of the special's page on Netflix to see how people feel about it.

Check out the Netflix lineup starting Tuesday, October 23 at 12:01 a.m. to try Adam Sandler: 100% Fresh. If you need something to watch while we wait, swing by our fall TV premiere schedule.
