2018 was one of the most noteworthy years in Netflix's still relatively short history, with the company solidifying its creative standpoints in several ways. For one, Netflix's international scope continued widening, with far more foreign productions than previous years. For another, the streaming giant really tightened the reins on its vast number of original series, and started issuing cancellations out in growing numbers. But what about 2019?
Yes, 2019 could somehow be an even bigger year for Netflix, with more money going into its content library than ever. This year will finally bring in the third season of Stranger Things, as well as the second season of The Punisher, more from Matt Groening's Disenchantment, and lots of other fan favorites that will hopefully be worth all of our binge-dedicated hours.
Don't forget to bookmark our 2019 Netflix schedule, as it will be updated throughout the year as new dates are made available. Note that brand new series will be listed in all caps, and that some dates are subject to change. (For premieres that go beyond just Netflix, our 2019 midseason TV rundown will help fill in all the calendar gaps.)
Kicking off the new year, Netflix will be wrapping up the final seasons for a couple of its shows, such as Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, while also debuting some exciting new programs. Everybody loves a new Gillian Anderson project, right?
