Nobody puts Baby in the hospital! Dirty Dancing vet Jennifer Grey, however, will indeed be put in a very particular hospital: Grey-Sloan Memorial. The actress is heading to Grey's Anatomy for the back half of Season 15, which will hit ABC in January. We can probably expect some big moments from Grey's character, too.

When Jennifer Grey makes her debut on Grey's Anatomy, it will be for a multi-episode arc that will presumably take place entirely within the rest of Season 15. (Though it could possibly last into the next season if fans react kindly.) Unfortunately, it hasn't yet been confirmed how many episodes Grey will be around for, nor when her first appearance will go down. But it's coming!

According to TVLine, details about Jennifer Grey's role are being kept hidden from fans for now. As such, it's rather hard to guess how she might fit into any of the characters' Season 15 arcs. But there's one option that sounds slightly more plausible than some others that might be floating around.

Star Camilla Luddington confirmed earlier this year that Grey's Anatomy will be introducing the long-absent parents of her character Jo. Jennifer Grey would be a pretty solid option for Jo's biological mom, though I can't imagine her arrival will lead to anything less than a tempestuous situation. As fans might remember, Jo was left at a fire station by her mother when she was just a couple of weeks old, and it's likely Jo won't be overtly forgiving upon meeting her mother again.

Of course, Jennifer Grey could very well be playing a completely different character that has nothing to do with Jo, and nothing to do with being someone's mother. She could be a contentious higher-up within the medical field, or a very special patient whose maladies are unable to be quelled with ease.

Interestingly enough, Grey's father Joel Grey had previously popped up on Grey's Anatomy. Back in Season 6, the dancing and singing actor played Dr. Singer (naturally), a former teacher of Izzie's who suffered from Alzheimer's disease. We probably shouldn't expect Dr. Singer's daughter to be introduced for Jennifer Grey's episode, but I guess anything is possible.

Though Jennifer Grey's career started off strong on the big screen, she has had a lot more success recently with television projects. (Though not the Dirty Dancing remake that ABC cobbled together.) Most recently, she could be seen in the Amazon dramedy series Red Oaks, and could be heard performing various voices for Disney XD's animated series Phineas and Ferb. On the film side of things, she can be seen in this year's drama Untogether, and heard in the animated feature Duck Duck Goose.

Grey's Anatomy will return to ABC on Thursday, January 17, at 8:00 p.m. It will be followed not by Station 19, but by the hit freshman drama A Million Little Things. While waiting to see what Jennifer Grey will be up to in Seattle, be sure to keep up with all the new dates for the remaining fall TV shows and the 2019 midseason premieres.
